Moerheim New Plant bv is a young business that has been involved in the licensing, distribution and launch of new plants on the European markets since 1991. These include the Petunia varieties SURFINIA® and MILLION BELLS®, the Verbena varieties TAPIEN® and TEMARI®, as well as tree nursery products for the impulse buy market.

They have pooled their efforts with a growing group of breeders, the best known of whom is the Japanese firm of Suntory. As well as handling licensing, distribution and product launch we also monitor the growers to check that they are growing our products legally and using our familiar product labels. All the varieties we introduce are protected under Trademark and Breeder's Rights. This means that cultivation is prohibited except with our approval, as is the use of our trademarks. Checks are carried out throughout Europe. Moerheim New Plant bv can take over product launches for other breeders. Moerheim New Plant bv operates on the following three principles:

• the product must be easily recognisable to the consumer through labels and sales promotion;
• production levels must be high enough to assure that the product has full availability;
• the product must be truly innovative, something the consumer cannot do without.
