About Moerheim New Plant bv

Moerheim New Plant bv was established in 1989 by the world famous "Koninklijke Kwekerij Moerheim" (Royal Nursery Moerheim) which was founed in 1888. Moerheim has always been an innovator and creator of new plants. Special promotion of Plants for consumers is not new for us as we were one of the first with railway poster campaign for Delphinium or the consumer promotion for the Rose SONIA^®.

As rose producer and partner of the French rose Breeder we came into contact with Japanese breeders and started a cooperation with the Suntory Group to introduce SURFINIA^® at the European market.

SURFINIA^® was the  start to set up a large network of partners (rooting companies) to join us to build out this total new market from bedding plants produced from cuttings. Which is nowadays the leading business in Europe. We run today a 125 million plants business in European all Suntory creation. The Japanese company SUNTORY^® is a major player on the International market within a wide range of productlines in food, beer, leisure, flowers etc. Suntory runs a very high tech breeding stations in several countries for create with a large team of specialist the new products for the future.
